June 2015
Message from the President

Christine DavlinCan you believe we are almost halfway through 2015!? ATD's International Conference & Exposition (May 17-20) in Orlando was fantastic! It is always nice to be the learner versus the teacher. Lorna Kibbey did an amazing job kicking off the conference at Chapter Leader Day; she really knows how to get everyone moving and laughing! It was a proud moment to see the name of our chapter on the poster in the room, listed as "April's Chapter of the Month!"

Last month, Cheryl Lynn Dratler shared and demonstrated counseling ideas and practices for the coaching environment; I heard very positive feedback from those who attended! In June, several of us will be sharing our take-aways from ICE. We were all focused on different topics, so you will get a different perspective from our experiences, and tidbits that you can use or research further.

Stay cool as we head into the heat of the summer!

I hope to see you at our upcoming events!

Warm regards,

Christine Davlin

June Learning Event: Takeaways from the ATD International Conference and Exposition (ICE)

Lorna Kibbey at ICEEach year the Association for Talent Development brings the training and development industry to life by hosting the International Conference and Exposition. This year's conference was held in Orlando, Florida. Each aspect of the industry is covered for every level of practitioner, from CEO to specialist, from dean to student. ICE brings more than 10,500 learning colleagues from around the globe to share best practices and insights.

ATD SWFL had several chapter members in attendance this year, including our Chapter President Christine Davlin. Our chapter members are prepared to share with you their favorite takeaways from the information sessions they attended. If you chose to join us for our monthly learning event on June 17, you will learn about current and future trends, and find out how to apply them on the job to get results. This will be an informal event with plenty of time for questions and answers.

14th Annual Tri-County HR Conference

Melissa Rizzuto, Lorna Kibbey, Ken Bodenhamer, and Kathy Choquette at our ATD Chapter Booth for the 14th Annual Tri-County HR Conference on May 15, 2015.HR Tri County

Our participation at the conference was successful in many ways. We represented our Southwest Florida Chapter of ATD by sponsoring a table enabling us to the provide awareness to the professional community that this year is our Chapter's 25-year anniversary. In addition, we wanted to ensure that community is aware of brand name change from ASTD to ATD.

Our door prize was to give away four books and the recipients were Bonnie Tate, Lisa DePatie, Dan Frees, and Cynthia Allison.
